Reckless driving charge against Georgia trucker filed by Virginia State Police as a result of a traffic accident on I-95 could jeopardize the man's livelihood. Veteran's Day accident on Southbound I-95 near Richmond resulted in criminal charge being filed against a Georgia trucker for reckless driving.

Virginia State Police charged a Georgia truck driver with reckless driving November 11 after a collision backed up Interstate 95 traffic for five miles.

Jimmy Womack Sr., 50, was charged after a 4:30 p.m. wreck near mile marker 58 south of Richmond at Colonial Heights that stalled southbound traffic for four hours.

State police Sgt. Thomas Molnar said a man identified as William Edgar Bruce Sr. was injured in the incident and taken to Southside Regional Hospital.

Reckless driving is a Class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia. The maximum punishment upon conviction is one year in jail, license suspension for up to one year, and a fine of up to $2,500.00.
